Camping Delle Rose For fifty years a campsite you can't get enough of
Benvenuti in the Italian paradise. In the friendly region of Liguria, in the hinterland of the Riviera of Flowers, lies the small-scale family campsite Delle Rose. Surrounded by the scents and colours of olive and palm trees, eucalyptus, cactus, mimosas and citrus fruit, you will leave the stressful life at home far behind you. Maybe it's because the mountain air of the Maritime Alps and the Mediterranean meets here, but this place immediately captured my heart. So be warned.
Castle villages take you back in time
The month of May is a wonderful month to visit this area. The flowering bulb fields look like small Italian paintings. But also the rest of the year this destination is worth a visit.
Camping Delle Rose is connected to the medieval village of Isolabona by a footpath. In three quarters of an hour, the historic path takes you past breathtaking views over the Nervia valley, past the remains of an old stone oven and Ligurian peasant life towards the castle ruins.
In addition to Isolabona with its 1486 fountain, Dolceacqua and Apricale are special castle villages with unspoilt architecture. Not for nothing inspiration for painters like Monet, you will find picturesque bridges and churches, old-fashioned cafes and cozy markets.
The culinary Italian specialties make the holiday feeling complete. End the day in the sulphurous hot springs at the thermal baths of Pigna.
"Riccardo's Italian cooking skills and the wonderful climate make me feel part of the 'familia' over and over again."
Trips: caves, botanical gardens and the formula-1
San Remo, Monaco, Nice, as well as the birthplace of Columbus, the port city of Genoa, are all very near from Camping Delle Rose. If you are looking for some refreshment you can visit the caves of Toirano. A trip through the caves takes seventy minutes and can therefore be combined with a day trip to the coastal town of Loano, for example.
The Hanbury gardens, one of the largest botanical gardens in Italy, are also easily accessible from the campsite.
Are you a Formula 1 fan like me? Camping Delle Rose is recommended for those looking for affordable accommodation near the Monaco circuit.
For fifty years a campsite you can't get enough of
This quiet glamping destination, is situated against a mountain slope in the valley of the river Nervia. The green terraces with phenomenal mountain views, have been in the family for generations. Now run by Lorena, her husband Mauro and sons Lorenzo and Riccardo, this campsite breathes hospitality.
A few times a year I travel to this campsite to meet the family and pick out the most beautiful places for the lodges of Lodge Holidays. Riccardo's Italian cooking skills and the wonderful climate make me feel part of the 'familia' every time.
Most beautiful beaches in Italy
For fifty years this has been a holiday destination for those who want to camp luxury in peace and quiet in a wooded area just twelve kilometres from the coast. Every year, the most beautiful beaches in Italy are rewarded with a Blue Flag along the Ligurian coastline. The beautiful beaches and clear blue sea contribute to the 'la bella vita' feeling. Would you rather spend a day relaxing around the campsite? Take a refreshing dip in the pool!
To allow as many people as possible to enjoy one of my favourite destinations, Lodge Holidays at the camping Delle Rose offers three types of accommodation. The Base Lodge, the Desert Lodge with private sanitary facilities and the Wood Lodge with private sanitary facilities are all carefully selected and personally decorated to make your well-deserved holiday unforgettable.
