A day of sea, sun and sand in Le Marche
Fancy a day on the Adriatic coast?
Want to cool off at the sea? The Adriatic Sea, east of Le Marche, boasts a coastline of at least 180 kilometres. You will find both sandy and pebble beaches here. Enjoy yourself at one of the many little bays at Monte Conero, or will you opt for the wide sandy beaches with palm trees in the south instead?
"It is teeming with terraces and restaurants where you can relax. And you can take a leisurely stroll along the boulevard in the evenings!"
Beautiful, clean beaches
At least 16 beaches are designated La Bandiera Blu, the blue flag that guarantees these beaches are ultra clean. There are 26 seaside resorts in total.
The two little bays of Numana and Sirolo are situated at the foot of Monte Conero, south of Ancona. These are regarded as the most beautiful beaches on the Italian coast. You can reach the beach on foot or by shuttle bus. Numana, with views of Monte Conero, is further south. You can park your car on the boulevard. This is a lovely wide sandy beach.
Virtually no tourists in sight
The beaches further south are also absolutely gorgeous. There is Pedaso, with both sand and pebble beaches and hardly any foreign tourists, where you can eat superb fresh fish at II Faro, or a delectable vongole.
The large seaside resort of Porto San Giorgio is further north. The name provides a clue that it has a harbour. The sandy beach is long and wide with various play facilities for children and sociable beach tents.
Fun beside the seaside!
Senigallia (close to Ancona), with its two long boulevards, has won many prizes in recent years for the cleanest beach and most well-kept boulevard. Highly suitable for children; the sandy beach gradually slopes into the sea. It is teeming with terraces and restaurants where you can relax. And you can take a leisurely stroll across the boulevard in the evenings!
